Last week at Rotary - June 26, 2025

 

 

 

 

 

Rich Jakubczak of the Holland Area Veterans’ Council will spoke to us about the Veterans’ Park in Park Township. 

 

Rich is a founding member of the Holland Vietnam Veterans of America, the Holland Veterans’ Council, and the Vet To Vet peer discussion group. He is also on the Michigan Veterans’ Trust Fund.

 

Rich is instrumental in organizing a Veteran’s Park for all vets past, present, and future from all branches of service:  to honor those who have served in defense of our country~~only 1% of the total population.Located in Park Township at the old airport on Ottawa Beach Road, vets and their families may purchase bricks or plaques inscribed with their names, dates of service, or however they want to best commemorate their veteran for $250 each. There is space for 900+bricks and plaques.

 

Rich praised our fellow Holland Rotarian Howard Fink as he has been so supportive of realizing this vision. Park Township will also mow this park for its continued maintenance.

 

The group still need $90,000 to complete the park, they hope to finish the work in August of 2025.
