My House Ministry

My House Ministries started with one house to provide shelter for women who are dealing with abuse, poverty, addiction, and/or homelessness. The organization became a non-profit in 2015. They now have 3 homes. They can house 18 women and 6 kids.

Dillene Van Beek has been the executive director for 6 months. She pointed out that their goals are to provide hope, healing, and a fresh start to the women and children who live in their houses. Volunteer life coaches assist residents because they believe healing happens in a community.

Growth requires courage, and each woman defines what success means to them. My House Ministry personnel work with each resident to help them achieve their individual goals. The usual length of the program is 18 months. However, My House has found that the first 4 weeks are critical to the success of the program.

My House works with local organizations for referrals and to share resources. They include resilience, Reach for Recovery, Community Mental Health, Good Samaritan Ministries, and others.
