Dear Rotarians,

For several years, the Rotary Club of Traverse City has been working with Mission Impact (a non-profit partner), the Rotary Club of Antigua, and several clubs in the Chicago Area to support a number of schools in Santa Maria de Jesus, Guatemala. including Proximo Pasos Elementary, the New Hope Nursing School, and a Lab Technician School.  This is also the future site for a Dental Hygienist School which is under construction.

On July 8, the community of Santa Maria suffered a devastating earthquake. Through disaster relief efforts, the water system is being restored. A next step: begin repairing damaged homes.

One of our club members, John Cox (who also is part-time staff for Mission Impact), is organizing a service trip October 25th – November 2nd. Work will focus on home repair projects and on-going work at the nursing school. If you or someone you know (they don't need to be a Rotarian) has construction experience and would like to participate, you can learn more details about the trip here. And feel free to contact John Cox (jecox3073@outlook.com or 419-564-8542) with any questions.

Thank you for helping spread the word!
