The new West Ottawa Interact Club will be our program this week. Jim White asks if any of our Rotarians would like to "adopt" a student's lunch to help offset the cost to our club budget for our nine guests. If so, please let him know Thursday and we can either collect that day or at a later time. Thanks!

 

Interact clubs bring together young people ages 12-18 to develop leadership skills while discovering the power of Service Above Self. Find out how serious leadership can be seriously fun.

 

Howard Fink, club member and Park Township manager, updated us on all the news that fits for the community where many club members reside:

 

-a new pickleball pavilion is being built at the old airport

-water safety is of the highest priority and they are working on getting rescue jet skis for the upcoming summer season

-preserving blueberry farms through the purchase of development rights to maintain our area's agricultural heritage and natural beauty

-no short term rentals (AirBNB, VRBO) allowed after Oct 1 in residential districts in Park Twp (allowed in commercial districts)

 

Our guest was Meika Weiss from Park Township offices and Sam Knot from HCHS was our Junior Rotarian.
