Maria Liz joined us remotely from her home in Brazil to tell us about her recent trip to New York City to participate in a Global Peace Conference. She was selected to participate by the Global Peace Chain organization. The goal of this organization is to "Build resilience by cultivating a culture of tolerance, inclusivity, interfaith harmony, love, and social peacebuilding across borders through peace education, like peace talks with community-based groups/organizations".
The topics of this particular conference were:
Building empathy for conflict resolutions;
Role of social media in minimizing ethnic violence;
Rising of Islamophobia;
Utilization of "AI" for educational opportunities;
Role of women in peacebuilding.
The speakers included diplomats, writers, AI engineers, and local US officials. The conference lasted for 3 days and Maria Liz felt that it was very worthwhile for what she learned and the contacts she made.
